To manage the intraocular pressure associated with open angle glaucoma, Ellex offers two Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) systems: Tango and Solo. SLT uses low energy light to target and irridate melanin-rich cells in the trabecular meshwork without affecting the surrounding structure. In response, the body automatically rebuilds the meshwork, which increases aqueous outflow and reduces the intraocular pressure.

SLT is gentle, repeatable and non-invasive, it can be primary treatment for the patients who cannot tolerate or unable to self administer medications, as well as can be used in conjunction with traditional drugs therapy.

There are no risks, complications or side effects, such as burn and scar tissue associated with other laser procedures.

The two models available from Ellex are:

• Tango SLT/YAG photo disruptor combination system. It provides both YAG and SLT treatments in a single laser.

• Solo SLT only. Solid state ophthalmic laser system designed specially for Selective Laser trabeculoplasty.
